While travelling around Cambodia, the passport won’t be legally required by the police or local authorities except when crossing the border. The foreigner’s passport will never be used for any other purposes in Cambodia, except the rent of motorbike or car for a self-drive. So when the passport is asked to show, you shall not show them the original one, or else it won’t be returned to you until you give them a certain amount of money according to their demand.

The car driving in Cambodia is more or less difficult. If you are very new to Cambodia, we would like to recommend you taking a car with an English-spoken driver. The driver can send you to anywhere around Cambodia, especially the interesting resorts.
From our personal experience, our car for rent is rarely breakdown on the way, as before getting the car started we usually do the following general performance checking especially in the morning: 1. Check the level of water in the radiator to see in case it is at low level. 2. Check the level and quality of lubricant in case it is at low level or in bad quality. 3. Check the level of brake fluid and refill it when it is at low level. 4. Check the quality of belts system and replace it when it bad. 5. Check the fans performance before closing the hood. But if the car is still broken down on the way you will need to contact us for solution, and you have to get it towed to Phnom Penh office where you will pay only for the towing fee whereas the rest of the repair costs are our responsibility even the the repair cost is up to thousands US Dollars if the scene is within our liability coverage areas where the radius from Phnom Penh is within 50 Km. Beyond this, we still can help you but the mobile repair service is needed to take place and will charge you at the rate of $0.75/Km.
Absolutely not. Our car rental service is not like a chartered tour service.
Because we do not know your exact destinations

Option 2. If you have already had a Cambodian driver's license, you have to: 2.1. Deposit a valid passport with entry visa (of all kinds) for your insurance purpose. 2.2. Yeah, you can do that, but you will be requested to pay an additional refundable deposit with the amount ranging between $2,000. and $2,500.00.
The hotel check-in requires only a copy of the passport, not the original one. Most of our cars are bound with the insurance company agreement based on which any the foreign driver are required to deposit the passport.
No, there isn’t. You can use or drive the rented car as far as you like because the car rental does not include the fuel cost, but you need to pay the fuel by yourself. Note: As all of our cars are always ready to deliver to you with full tank of fuel prior to your departure from Phnom Penh Office, you are required to either refill the car with a full tank of fuel or repay us between $75 & $85 in compensation with the cost of fuel to be refilled when you return the car to us at Phnom Penh Office.
There are some of the following tips that can help you avoid the accidents when driving in Cambodia: 1. Never drive as fast as in other countries 2. Do not drive on high way at night as there may be animals or wildlife lying on the road or it is possible that vehicles such as ox cart, trailer, lorry/truck, or motorbike can also park on the road without switching on the warning light. Besides, there may also be drunk people or gangsters driving badly or coming to hit the car you are driving 3. You will need to be beware of cross road or reduce the speed when arriving at the crossroad in case you run over another car that accidentally pass by there.. 4. Avoid over taking that can cause accident as the roads in Cambodia are mostly rough and narrow.
For the foreigner who comes to Cambodia for the first time, the drive is risky. If you are cool-headed, it will be a very good to have more privacy to do a self-drive. In the contrary if you are distracted while driving you will face multiple problems. Therefore we would like to recommend that you take a car rental with a driver. The driver can speak English and knows all places around Cambodia in particular the interesting places or resort centers.
If you happen to return the car on Sunday or off day, you are required to pay $10.00 for input of our employee’s over time work payment on Sunday and call us one hour in advance of your arrival to the neighboring area of Phnom Penh.

You will have to call directly to the insurance agency representatives, tell them the spot of accident, wait them, and report them what have happened but do not escape nor move the car away from the scene or else the insurance company will not be involved in compensation for the loss.
There are five of the following options: 1. Third Party Liability (TPL), 2. Own Damage (OD), 3. Passenger Liability (PL), 4. Accident to the Driver (AD), and 5. Theft/robbery
Yes, there is full insurance coverage for all of our rented cars
Of course there is. Since we do not have any branch offices in other provinces we have to go from Phnom Penh to the proposed destinations for delivering/receiving the rented car. It will take 2 days at the earliest to take the round trip from Phnom Penh to the scene including the accommodation time. So, we will charge you based on the distance between Phnom Penh and the destination, for example: 1. Sihanouk Ville $150.00 2. Siem Reap province $150.00 3. Battambang province $179.00 4. Koh Kong province $165.00
Yeah, you can. But you will be allowed to use it only 1 month.

No, you cannot. You can use only the Cambodian driver’s license. The Royal Government of Cambodia and the local insurance agency require you to exchange it with the Cambodian one. Lyna-CarRental.Com's office can deal with it for you, and it will take only a few minutes to get National Driver's License replaced with the Provisional Cambodian Driver's License.
For the monthly car rental, both of your booking fee and deposit fee won't be refunded. For daily car rental, the rental deposit will be refundable but the rental fee will not be. Our past experience: Such non-refundable deposit is proved by a past experience of one of our colleagues as stated below. Once on Wednesday, December 23, 2015, she missed her flight from Norway to France where she needed to celebrate a Christmas party with her relatives, and that round-trip flight fee was $600. Her flight failure was caused by a traffic jam: One car hit another on the road by which she needed to go past and this made a heavy traffic jam for two hours. Then she went to the flight company at the airport in Kristiansand and inquired whether her ticket could be used for the next flight. Unfortunately, her fly ticket could not be renewed and the validity could not be extended. Then she was required to buy another one. Similarly the car rental fee cannot be refunded.
As the number of days per month ranges between 28 and 31, one month of car rental shall be counted as 30 days no matter how many days the month comprises, but you will need to return the rented car on the last day by 5:30 PM.
Like the hotel check-in, the car rental can be started at any time of our working hours, but unlike the hotel check-out which can be processed no later than 12:00 PM, whereas the vehicle returning time is no later than 5:00 PM of the last day of car rental agreement. If later than 5:00pm as stated above the vehicle returning is automatically counted as extended to the next day. Here are the following examples: (i) If you take the rented car out on Monday for example at 12:00 PM, (whereas our office opens from 7:30 AM to 5:00 PM) and you take the car back to our office by 5:30 PM on the same day, the car rental will be counted as one full day. (ii) If you take the rented car on Monday between 7:50 am to 12:00 PM, for example and turn it back to our office on Wednesday of the same week by 5:30 PM, the rental period is counted as three full days.
Of course not. Especially after 8:00 PM
Of course not. You may not return it at lunch time from 12:00 MP to 02:00 PM because we do not work at lunch time. In an emergency, you may be requested to pay extra $10.00 for an assigned staff to work over time.
As we don’t work on off days you cannot return the car at that time unless you notify us (such as by phone call) at least one hour in advance of your arrival to Phnom Penh. In this case, you need to pay an overtime fee for the assigned person to receive the returned car.
No, not at all. You could drive the rented car as far as you like within the Kingdom of Cambodia territory.
Although no branch office is available in each of the other provinces, we can also deliver the rented car to the place you need. The fee rate of the car delivering and that of car collecting back are the same namely it depends on the distance in Kilometer from Phnom Penh to the destination. For detail: i) If the distance is between 1 km to 300 Km the fee is $150; ii) If the distance is between 301 km to 600 Km the fee is $250. Please note that the car rental fee is charged separately.
Holding a passport while travelling in Cambodia can be problematic as you will face a pickpocket or gangster who can eventually steals your bag in which your passport has been kept.
